Ms. Onu obtained her Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University in Washington D.C., and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.
Ms. Onu began her legal career in 1998 in Oregon, and is a former member of the Oregon State Bar. She moved to the Seattle area and was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2004. She is a member of the East King County Bar Association (where she chairs the Family Law Section), a member of the King County Bar Association, and a member of the Family Law Section of the Washington State Bar.
She has presented continuing legal education seminars to fellow members of the bar on evidence rules and case law updates. She was recently chosen by her peers and SuperLawyers Magazine as a Rising Star among Washington family law attorneys. She has achieved a 10.0 Superb rating from Avvo and been awarded the Avvo Client’s Choice Award in Divorce for 2012.
Ms. Onu has practiced in various areas such as criminal law (misdemeanors and felonies), immigration law, personal injury law and family law. She has extensive litigation experience, having represented clients in pre-trials, motions, trials, and administrative hearings. She has argued before the Oregon Court of Appeals and represented clients in both State and Federal Court. Since 2007 her practice has focused primarily on family law. She derives great satisfaction from assisting clients to successfully negotiate what is typically the most traumatic event of their lives.
